Bizarre Truth

Since the fall of Communism, the old Soviet newspaper Pravda (whose name is the Russian word for "truth") has mutated into a rather odd confection featuring moral (or, by Western standards, amoral) homilies, cheesecake photos, strident patriotism, a blissful Slavic ignorance of the concept of political correctness, and occasional tabloid-like articles about space aliens. Just today alone its English-language website features such headlines as "100m dollars for Britney's sex tape", "Being gay is faddish in today's Russia", "Condoleezza Rice's sexual worries in the White House", and "Standard size condoms slip off small Indian penises". There's also this article about the decline of monogamy and why it's nothing to worry about. I guess they're making up for all those years of soporific stories about tractor production and Communist party congresses.

It does have a weird sort of charm, doesn't it? Always remember, "a man was made to be king of nature, including women!"
