Acting like winners, finally, maybe

I'm starting to think it's possible that health-care reform might succeed after all.

If we cannot produce a bipartisan solution by then, you have to wonder if the Republicans would ever be willing to agree to anything.....We will enact health-care reform by the end of the year. If the Republicans are not able to produce an agreement, we will have contingencies in play.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY)

Can it be that they are finally wising up? This is the way to get things done. No more "bipartisan" madness, no more "reaching out" to those whose sole interest is obstruction, no more idiotic talk of "moving beyond" the left-right divide which represents a very real contrast between deeply-opposed world-views and agendas. We won, they lost. In 2006 and 2008, the American people massively endorsed our side and rejected the rightists. The left has the mandate. Let's start acting like it.

Good posting and point. We all have a fairly good idea of what this reform plan will consist of if you look at the proposal's. And I myself am one of them bipatisan type fella's,I'll try to negotiate with anyone. However, you have a point,because...you can ONLY reach your hand so far...and if you see your pissing in the wind, you need to take other action.Boy this is a mess! And what is incredible...is the almost masochistic way's of the base of the republican party, I mean...they have been dividing within their own rapidly, the public opinion of the GOP is declining, and too many recent strikes,yet...they continue to dig their own grave...dont make sense...but, oh well. And we are simply not ready yet to avoid this clash of these two sides, like you say...they have some strong differences. I talk to more and more young folk's,that are really not impressed with the way we do thing's in government period. And of coarse,my concern is my grandchildren and my country.

But I have been listening to Shumar on this elsewhere to...and he has a point...because how can we even do anything bipartisan if all we do is stay at each others throats? And this is what they need to do...because we simply act too slow on many avenue's when it comes to getting the job done in that town.

Enough said...later Guy.....

The Republicans seem to have no ideas except to obstruct whatever the Democrats try to do. As long was we try to bring the Republicans on board as part of the process, nothing is going to get done.
