Thought for the day

Whatever difficulties we now face, be thankful that the Democratic party did not nominate John Edwards in 2008. Just imagine if the current implosion of his personal life were happening to him as President, in the midst of the current phalanx of crises. It would be a distraction of Monicagate-like proportions, at the time when the country could least afford it.

I'm not proud to say that I contributed to that asshole's campaign and I'm none too happy with Elizabeth here either. She covered this thing up during the campaign, which would have exploded in our faces had Edwards been the Dem delegate. We would now have Pres. McInsane and the Tundra Twat for POTUS and VPOTUS. Yikes.

I can see he seemed an attractive candidate at the time, and we couldn't have anticipated what happened. It was flagrantly unethical of him to take such a risk.

McInsane and the Tundra Twat

That has got to become a superhero cartoon show.

Thanks for visiting.

2003 on - I am on record on two blogs of saying from the get-go that I didn’t trust this guy. Too smarmy. Even was harsh enough to say I wouldn’t spit on him if he were on fire. The basis of that statement was his South Carolina TV ads claiming to be “plain folks” just like me – when his net worth at the time was $54 million. Reminded me of Ted Baxter: “It all started in a mill town …” BJ

BJ -- thanks for visiting! His populism always did seem a little strained. There have been rich people who were populists, but people like, say, the Kennedys didn't try to pose as blue-collar types themselves.

Thanks for responding. I have a little more time for blog-hopping now that I'm not researching for DemWit. Have a good weekend! Friends, BJ
