Quote for the day -- crazy, not like a Fox

".....as great as Beck has been in business terms, there's a pretty total appreciation at Fox corporate at this point that he's completely crazy -- as in more than the normal run of Fox News personalities -- and that they know that something either really awful or incredibly embarrassing will inevitably happen ... and probably in the pretty near future."

He's a train wreck waiting to happen. I look forward to his interview of Charlie Sheen. That will be like Gomez Addams' toy train set! Ka-BLOOIE!!

Yep, it's bound to happen, but of course, Beckian hoards will screech "conspiracy" and that their boy was drugged by jihadist libtard socialist communist gays. Or some arrangement of all the people they hate. that too is inevitable.

Lady Atheist -- Beck interviewing Sheen? Talk about kindred spirits!

For a long time, I couldn't decide if Beck's hyperbolic statements indicated a problem, or if he was deliberately cultivating ratings and media attention with an eccentric image. Beck's statements have cost him advertizers and earned him the scorn of other conservative commentators, so his behavior is either irrational, or his gambit backfired.

LA: I wouldn't put it past him to interview bin Laden, if he could figure out how.

Sherry: Yep -- people who can believe that the Earth is 6,000 years old can believe anything.

Ahab: I've never watched Beck, so I can't judge. I suspect he's decided his core audience is the craziest of the crazy, and Devil take the consequences.

What I always wonder about such things-- what does it say about those who follow him and believe the rants?

Rain: Well, there are people that believe in astrology and ghosts and conspiracy theories. In any population there's some irreducible minimum of dumbth. Anyway, his ratings have been plummeting. Moore and more people are either seeing through him or just getting tired of him.
