Quote for the day -- the totalitarian mind

"One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country.....Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that’s okay, contraception is okay. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be."

Rick Santorum

Santorum's disdain for LGBTs, women, and non-Christians is off the scale. This man should have never been allowed anywhere near public office.

One of the things I will talk about, that few citizens have talked about before, is I think the dangers of electing a Dominionist in this country.....Many of the Christian Right have said, well, that’s okay, a theocracy is okay. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in an unConstitutional realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be." --Shaw Kenawe

The fundie/teabagger crowd has chosen well. Santorum is clearly the right man to hold high the torch of bigotry and lunacy and to bear it proudly through the remainder of the primary process.

The Frothy One has been a gold mine for me when it comes to inspiration for posts on my blog, including one I just put up about an hour or so ago.

This dipstick makes me crazy. I did some live-Facebooking during the debate (my husband should never have left me at home with the laptop and the teevee while he played golf). After it was over, I posted this status: So, okay, I'm still working on this. Rick Santorum said that unwed mothers really should have tried to be married first and his administration is going to take that on. So, he's gonna make Mr. Wrong do right. And birth control will be illegal, so...be afraid, guys. Be very afraid.

TK: Some Republicans seem to exist to provide us bloggers with material.

Nance: More and more I'm thinking, that vasectomy was such a good idea.....:-)

I just wait for the day when Ricky is picked up by some local cop for trying to diddle another man in a public restroom. Hell, a whole list of 'family values' Republicans have already, why should he be any different?

@ Robert

Robert, either that, or they'll find a collection of dead fetuses in his basement dressed up like little dolls.

Santorum's whole purpose is to bring the totally crazy into the public forum.

98% of all het couples have used contraception at some point. Does Santorum really expect to win by saying they were wrong?

Santorum is getting out there just to reframe the debate and make extreme positions seem normal.

Speaking only for myself, I've done things in a sexual realm that are probably counter to how Mr. Santorum thinks things should be, and no contraception was required.

RtS: Somehow he strikes me as more the sort to be caught with a sheep. A dead one.

TK: Wouldn't put it past him. They don't call these types fetus fetishists for nothing.

Bacopa: Between him and the "personhood" laws, it's hard to see how the Republicans could get any more extreme. Declare homosexuality a felony? Human life begins at the moment the rapist gets his pants unzipped?

MB: No surprise, since there are probably very few things in the sexual realm that are not counter to how he thinks things should be.
