Video of the day -- Obamacare or the ACA?

Found via Lady Freethinker, who observes, ".....the ignorance hardly comes as a surprise. People are more likely to hear propaganda slamming Obamacare than they are to actually research it."  And while I'm sure Kimmel could have found plenty of people who know that Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are the same thing, he could also doubtless have found plenty who are even more clueless than those featured here.  Remember, actual flesh-and-blood humans vote for characters like Louie Gohmert and Paul Broun.  I have a mental image of some slope-head with his baseball cap the wrong way round, who vaguely remembers hearing about the "Affordable Car Act" and wonders why the prices at the local Chevy dealership haven't come down.

Hey Infidel ... I came here for the link list, but caught this first, so this was a treat! {: ) (I actually heard something about this on the radio the other day, but didnt get the full story, as far a folk's not knowing there is a difference) But being I just bloody woke up, this video had me busting a gut in laughter (I dont know whether to thank ya or sue ya) I would expect this on Hollywood Blvd too (nothing against LA or Angelinos either, I lived in and love LA) ... I mean, down there you could sell someone that a half dozen and a six pack are two different thing's, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh {: )

Now I understand why the Tea Party exists.

Ranch: Sure, there are ignoramuses all over the country, and all over the world for that matter. Maybe Boehner can announce that he won't let Obamacare be funded but he's willing to fund the ACA, and everyone will be happy.

Shaw: It's about time the nation's idiots got a party of their own to represent them.

Hahaha. I just posted this on my blog with a lot of other TPGOP stupidity. This is so damn funny and so telling. Hate that "Obama"care but ACA is a-okay.

Now that registration for the ACA has taken off like a rocket (referring to stalled web sites, etc.) I will be very curious to see the statistics about the demographics, specifically the age ranges, of those signing up.

I would suspect that a lot of people who are staring potential medial issues currently with no insurance will be elbowing to the front of the line.

But I am wondering how many of the young and 'healthy' are hanging back? I've had a few parlays on Reddit with young people who seem to think that, because they (currently) are young and healthy, they are somehow immune to needing medical insurance. Unfortunately it is the participation of these people as well which will underwrite and spread out the cost of insurance. My (anecdotal) perception is that a lot of younger people are the ones hostile or ambivalent about the ACA.

Leslie: If we couldn't laugh at this stuff, we'd go crazy.

Robert: This is true, but I think it will take quite a while to get a good picture. The young and healthy, at the very least, will feel less urgency about getting insurance, and may be more likely to hang back until all the much-publicized glitches with the exchange websites are resolved. If it's a long-term problem, the individual mandate may need to be toughened, since otherwise those healthy people will still be free-loading on the system when the get taken to the emergency room after being hit by a truck.
