Back to work

Today marks five weeks since I came home from the hospital, and it was finally time to go back to work.  Much as I'm glad my recovery has progressed that far (though it's still by no means complete), I'll miss having so much free time at home.  Some people claim they get bored if they're off work for a long period, but it's never been the case with me.  The transition can't come soon enough.

Damn guy ... 5 weeks already?!!, that went quick ... monday I'll be the devil I reckon (Halloween), and in a couple months I'll be Santa for the kids. Seemed back then, you were feeling a little down ... see that ... it's all cool now ... just one of those things guy. Bored being off of work? ... I never was bored off work {:-), but yeah, I've known alot of folks like that ... like ... no work, what do I do? ... I tell them "man, just do something you been wanting to do, but didnt have the time". That piece you wrote, that you have linked in here about the basic income thing, I have talked to folks about the idea of that for several years (I didnt read it anywhere, it just popped up in thoughts) ... they seem so puzzled by it, and trying to imagine what life would be like (I just feel it's inevitable, I tell them), but I understand that something like that may be a little confusing to some, all they ever known, was what they live. So much would change for the better guy, with a basic income ... one of the questions/ arguments I alwayz got was ... "people will just get lazy, and have no incentive to do anything" ... I dont believe that, once people adjust ... as a matter of fact, I think it will make folks do much of what they wanted to spend time doing, but never had the time (if that makes sense?), I see reduction in petty crimes, reduction in stress and tensions over finances, less conflict, more people helping others, and a list of other positives. You know, I see so many folks that just work, work, work, work ... alwayz trying to simply make that extra buck, they buy all the newest electronic gadgets, clothes, etc, etc ... and many of those I see, never even have the time to utilize half of what they collect. I know one guy that has 5 cars even, works his ass off, and only drives one at a time, and very little at that heh, heh, heh, heh, heh {:-)

Those people lack imagination or hobbies. I quit working at 55. Didn't make a lot of money anyway and had started investing as much as I could afford at 35 when my father died. Early Death Syndrome seems to run in the family. And a bad day fishing beats a good day at work and all that.

Glad to hear you're recuped enough to get back to the grindstone, tho. That can't be anything but good news.

Truth. I can't imagine how dull someone's own life must be for them to need work to keep them occupied.

Tough going back but one day you'll be able to relax. Try to take it easy.
